What can I expect from my service provider during my salon or spa visit?

Our team members will consult with you prior to the service to find out your goals and preferences, and make recommendations if appropriate. They will let you know what to expect, and will find out if you have any special needs or concerns.

Can I wear makeup to my facial or body treatment?

During facials, your esthetician will remove your make-up for you. If you are booked for a spray tan or lash lift service, we recommend already coming with a clean, makeup-free face.

Cash, checks (local only), Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and The Day Spa at Hair Plus Gift Certificates.

How does the tipping process work? What is normal?

Our prices do not include gratuities for salon or spa service providers. Tipping is optional, but if the service meets or exceeds your expectations it is definitely appreciated. The industry standard is 15 – 20% of your total service fee before promotional or membership pricing.

Do you accommodate late arrivals?

We pride ourselves on providing service to all of our clients in a timely and professional manner. Your promptness is greatly appreciated and required to properly serve you. In the event that you are running late, please notify us. As a courtesy to other clients, we may have to shorten your service time to remain on schedule.

What if I lost my gift certificate?

We keep a record of all gift certificates in our system for two years from the date of purchase. Call us to find out if you have one on file and if there is a remaining balance.

Do you allow children in the Spa?

The Day Spa at Hair Plus has many wonderful services to give you extra-special treatment during this time. We understand your need for care and safety, and we will make accommodations for your comfort. It is always best to check with your doctor.

What is the difference between partial and full highlights?

Partial is just the crown of your head being lightened or placed around the face for a brightening effect. Whereas a full highlight involves highlighting every section of your hair.

What is the difference between ombre and balayage?

In the hair color world, ombré is a dramatic, two-toned hair color effect that is typically darker at the top and lighter on the bottom. Often the dark, top section is your natural hair color shade and the bottom section is lightened. An ombré hairstyle can also be any color combination—natural blonde, brown or red, or something unconventional like pink, blue, green or purple. Balayage highlights are hand-painted or swept along the surface of the hair. The application begins away from the roots and gradually becomes heavier as it travels along the section, culminating in the heaviest application of lightener or hair color at the ends. Because the hair color or lightener is concentrated on the surface of each section, the underside remains darker, which gives the hair a very natural, dimensional effect. The resulting subtle balayage hairstyle mimics a natural, sun-kissed effect.
